Where are you at in your life stage?
I moved to SoCal 9 years ago from England. I have a professional job where I work remotely. I have 2 furbabies. I live with my partner. I enjoy volunteer work, currently I volunteer for Team Kennedy and also I help shelter pets.
How's your life?
I love living in SoCal, it’s where I’m meant to be! It hasn’t been the easiest making friends here, I have some good stories to share!! I would love to make a new kind hearted friend that similarly loves to be by the ocean and loves puppies also (even better if they have rescue puppies!). Bonus points if you enjoy music by local band the Wheeland Brothers and would accompany me to their concerts!
What helps you keep your sanity?
My puppies. I am learning to be more present.
What is most important to you right now?
(In no particular order) Career, my partner, my furbabies, personal growth, friends, taking care of my health, making a difference in the world through supporting the Kennedy Campaign for President.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I’m a quarter of a century, just moved and started a new job in Orange County earlier this year. I mainly focus on work during the week then try to have an action packed weekend. I’ve been more shy, independent, and closed off in the past, but had experiences that made me realize how important human connection is. I’m currently in a LDR with my boyfriend. Overall I have a positive outlook on life, being more open minded and welcoming towards people.
How's your life?
My life is pretty sweet and peaceful other than having existential questions every so often. I fill my weekends with going to different beaches, parks, downtowns, bookstores, restaurants, fairs, shops, there’s so much to do, so little time~
What helps you keep your sanity?
Staying active and busy. I like discovering new places, trying new things. Currently saved 300+ places I want to go to eat, shop, discover… is that overkill? I love going on hikes, especially waterfall hikes, long walks at the beach, picnicking at parks, cooking elaborate meals, sketching and reading. I haven’t really done too much sports lately, but I do enjoy volleyball, pickleball, and ultimate frisbee.
What is most important to you right now?
3 F’s: Food, family, friends, or at least making friends
Anything you recently found interesting?

Love the elaborate meals that you cook! I've had a few myself and have done a wine pairing each. I'm not sure about which part you find most fun, but mine is definitely the process of finding the wine.

Newark
Waking up to a quiet sunrise, freshly brewed coffee and reading a book. Spending time and cooking together with my partner while we dance to the music.
Huntington Beach
Wake up naturally. Rub my dogs head. Watch her yawn and do her cute stretch. Make a cup of matcha latte. Get a little work done. Nice lunch in Little Saigon. Go to TJ Maxx and browse. Gym. Hot pot dinner. Boba. A nice walk. Sleep.
Santa Ana
Waking up without interrupted sleep. I can go about my day feeling my best and I'd exchange some smiles through transactions and to other strangers. I'd go home to make a simple meal involving lots of vegetables and I finally finish that bag of spinach. I'd go to the laundromat and coincidentally use up all my quarters. I'd then go home and light my favorite woody candle and press play on a movie I was looking forward to watching all week.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I'm settled but unsettled. I'm married, have a job I will likely retire from, homeowner. But still...the bay area doesn't feel like home even after 10 years here.
How's your life?
It's ok. I'm searching for more - more contentedness, more connectedness, more laughter.
What helps you keep your sanity?
My friends, my husband.
What is most important to you right now?
Finding balance in my life.
Anything you recently found interesting?
So many things! I've been curious my whole life, I want to understand why people and things are the way they are. Curiosity has driven me to choose my career, move to a different country. I almost exclusively read non-fiction now.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I am half way through my 30s. Single, first time homeowner, and am in a good spot in my career. I travel quite a bit for work and for fun.
How's your life?
At the moment, my life is honestly pretty chaotic due to my travel schedule.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Music (house/trance) is a big part of my life and going to live events is cathartic to me. I also love to surf. I try to keep a routine and stay active whether that's running or working out in my home gym.
What is most important to you right now?
It's important for me to find people I connect with that live within close proximity. I'd like to build a life that I'm excited to come home to so when I return home from my travels it's a comfort to be home. I'd also like to meet people to share my passions with. Many of my close friends are not physically close.
Anything you recently found interesting?
I will always find new music interesting. Particularly from the label Anjunabeats / Anjunadeep.

Where are you at in your life stage?
In traditional terms, pretty set? I'm 37, married to a wonderful lady, doing well overall. Next boring logistical step is probably buying a house, haven't done that yet. My parents are proud of me and shit. I've traveled to 20+ countries. No notes.
How's your life?
Well on one hand my soul has been put through the blender last two years -- my mother in law was diagnosed with dementia, my brother was in the hospital, had 10 surgeries, almost died a couple of times. Learned what code blue means. I still dream of hospitals.
On the other hand I'm fucking killing it on the career front. I was born and raised in Turkey and wanted to be a filmmaker, and now... I am. I have some awards and stuff that feels weird to write down. Gonna have my first feature shot with actual movie stars attached.
So... weird, overall, haha?
What helps you keep your sanity?
I enjoy books, currently reading the latest Sally Rooney novel. I like playing DND and watching weird modern clown shops at Elysian Theater. Playing videogames like Outer Wilds or Witcher 3. Traveling, whenever I can swing it. Music -- anything from Kendrick Lamar to Burial to Opeth. OOoh, and eating. I spend a lot of money on food, not gonna lie. Recently got into the podcast How to Destroy Everything.
What is most important to you right now?
All my friends are having kids now (me and the wife are ambivalent at best) or moving eastward to Culver City which might as well be another country. So, while I feel set in the more fundational parts of life, I do feel a lack of social bonds/community. What's important to me right now is to nurture that.
Anything you recently found interesting?
I saw a one man show called Sorry for Your Loss by Michael Cruz Kayne that was so funny and moving. I also enjoyed Natalie Palamedes' WEER, just the sheer bravura and audacity.
I also read a sci-fi novel titled Memories of an Empire that was quite novel and fun, it stayed with me.

Of the countries you visited, which was your favorite, and which was your least favorite?
scavenger87
Top of my head, I really enjoyed Brugges. Great food. A quaint, peaceful place. Probably not worth to stay for more than two nights, it's a tiny little town, but it was foreign and magical. It's a page out of a story book.
Least favorite? Probably Denmark, Copenhagen. Way too much drinking to the point it colored my experience. I saw so many people throwing up out on the streets. It didn't feel like people were having fun either, too much depressed, ennuie-fueled drinking. I went to USC for graduate school so I'm not alien to alcohol fueled behavior but it was like the entire city was the frat row.
I'm sure that's a generalization and maybe I just got unlucky, but it soured my experience.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I'm single, working, and back in school for my MSW (masters degree in social work).
How's your life?
Life is pretty good.
After making a career change from healthcare to the social work field, I have never been happier.
My work is filled with meaning and purpose, and I enjoy making a difference in the lives of people who need it most.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Spending time with my rabbit (and other animals), watching Asian dramas, journaling, and exercising are my favorites for stress relief and relaxation.
As a Christian, quiet time keeps me grounded and at peace during troubled times.
Doomscrolling is one of my bad habits. I spend at least an hour every day reading the news!
What is most important to you right now?
I am seeking genuine connection, friendship, and the love of my life.
Anything you recently found interesting?
Are you stuck at a crossroads in your life, unsure as to which path to take?

Where are you at in your life stage?
Early 30's - no kids, recently married.
The older I grow, the less I know where I fit in it seems, and realizing no one has it really figured out either.
How's your life?
Generally and objectively good, but I'm on a mission to seek new experiences and opportunities to keep my mind and body active as I thrive on stimulation and variety.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Laughter and sunshine.
What is most important to you right now?
I recently moved to San Francisco from France and am looking to build stronger friendships here, close knit friends to count on and people to reach out to for new and exiting activities or just grabbing a spontaneous coffee or wine to spice up the routine.

@CH I once read that when people were asked to read an excerpt from a book and guess the gender of the author, most would assume the author is male. That might speak to the way society has shaped our expectations and perhaps could be partly why your readers make such an assumption. :)

Because I’m introverted and constantly overthinking, (maybe a tad bit of rbf.. ha..) people think I’m standoffish; to but it nicely. The reality is I’m not, I’m just selective with my energy. I’m always looking to improve though, so I know it’s something to work on if I’m giving people that impression of me.

My craft is in design. It’s often assumed that if you can make things beautiful, you or your work cannot simultaneously be smart

Where are you at in your life stage?
I would say I’m constantly adjusting to new situations at this stage of life.
How's your life?
It’s going pretty well. I’m halfway through my graduate program in psychology and have just started doing my clinical hours as a therapist. My life is busy with school and work but I find myself alone on weekends wanting to go out with friends who prefer more calm activities. I am a pretty mellow person and prefer things like browsing a book store or shopping for plants.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Exercising and coffee.
What is most important to you right now?
My education is most important to me right now. But also, my dog Ellie. She’s a really sweet weenie dog and I love taking her to the dog park.
Anything you recently found interesting?
I recently got into buying houseplants. I’m slowly learning which plants are notorious for dying quickly :/
