Treat every member with respect, kindness, and empathy. Our community is not intended for dating purposes. All interactions should remain respectful and appropriate for all members. Be mindful of your words and actions, and avoid any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior. ATC does not allow the sharing of explicit content. All interactions should remain respectful and appropriate for all members.

Embrace diversity and inclusivity. We value different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. Engage in discussions that foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Respect the privacy of other members. Do not share personal information or any content shared within the community without explicit permission.

Foster open and constructive communication. Express your opinions and thoughts in a respectful manner, and be open to listening and understanding different viewpoints.
Accountability

While ATC encourages sharing knowledge and experiences, refrain from excessive self-promotion, spamming, or advertising. The focus should be on meaningful connections and conversations.

Around The Corner is a writing-based social community where two strangers meet over coffee.
After you sign up, submit your application here. Around The Corner is an invite-only community. Your application will be reviewed by ATC moderators. After your application is reviewed, you will receive a notification by email. Once your application is approved, you can create your profile.
Application review takes no longer than 1 business day. After your application is reviewed, you will receive a notification by email.
We are looking for more information from you. If your story is not sufficient enough to understand who you are, your application is remained on pending while awaiting your update. Once you submit the updated application, your application will be reviewed again. Application review takes no longer than 1 business day.
If your application doesn’t meet our community guideline, your application may be rejected. If your application contains unethical, harmful, or dangerous content, your access to ATC may be permanently banned.
A match is created when two people send each other a coffee message. Explore stories on Around The Corner to find someone you would like to connect with. Click the "Coffee?" button on their profile and write a private message. If the person you're interested in does the same, you both will be matched. Once you get matched, you can exchange messages and coordinate an in-person coffee meet.
Express Mail is a quick messaging service that delivers your coffee message to your recipient within 24 hours. We offer Express Mail to members who contribute to our community through Buy Me A Coffee donations.

Around The Corner exists only because of member support. If you’d like to help us keep doing what we do, you can make a donation through Buy Me A Coffee. As a token of appreciation, Around The Corner would offer you 1 express mail per donation. Your donation will go to maintain our service infrastructure like AWS database, application, mail, image storage servers, and CDN service.

CH and Nicholas.
CH met two strangers for coffee every week between February and April in 2023 in SF Bay Area. It was like a group social experiment to think about how we can deal with loneliness in adulthood. In May 2023, as she got over +150 people on the waitlist, she turned the project into community building for Around The Corner. In June 2023, CH met Nicholas in So Cal.
Nicholas created an anonymous online platform in October 2018, focusing on topic-based, long-form, meaningful conversations between strangers. This initiative was influenced by his past life experiences, deep personal relationships, therapy, and a desire to gain a healthy global perspective on life. After five years, Nicholas ceased operations to focus on cultivating his local community. Following hundreds of conversations and a new focus on real-life, nearby connections, he found a connection to CH through a Reddit post in /r/Irvine about ATC.
In July 2023, CH and Nicholas decided to work together to replicate our unique, positive experience with strangers. Since then, Around The Corner has been run by these two strangers who later became good friends.
