Where are you at in your life stage?
Finally emerging from school and nomad days, and might really have found a home for the longer term. Trying many new things in the last few years before I've really settled into a law career.
How's your life?
Life is great because I have enough work opportunities and hobbies to usually match the amount of energy I have at this stage. Life could be better because sometimes I have so much energy/drive to make big plans and not enough resources or people to truly make the most of it.
What helps you keep your sanity?
1. A book and tea in my bay window living room with a dull roar of street noise to keep me awake 2. Hiking the Steep Ravine trail connecting out from Muir Woods 3. Watching sunrise at least once a month from either Dolores or Mission Bay
What is most important to you right now?
Getting into work that keeps my fire lit while continuing to deepen my relationships, community connections, and culinary knowledge. Also taking at least one leap of faith per quarter.
Anything you recently found interesting?
Infinite City by Rebecca Solnit - I've always loved maps, essays, coffee table books, and San Francisco, and this combined all four as a perfect gift.

Waking up to a quiet sunrise, freshly brewed coffee and reading a book. Spending time and cooking together with my partner while we dance to the music.

Wake up naturally. Rub my dogs head. Watch her yawn and do her cute stretch. Make a cup of matcha latte. Get a little work done. Nice lunch in Little Saigon. Go to TJ Maxx and browse. Gym. Hot pot dinner. Boba. A nice walk. Sleep.

Waking up without interrupted sleep. I can go about my day feeling my best and I'd exchange some smiles through transactions and to other strangers. I'd go home to make a simple meal involving lots of vegetables and I finally finish that bag of spinach. I'd go to the laundromat and coincidentally use up all my quarters. I'd then go home and light my favorite woody candle and press play on a movie I was looking forward to watching all week.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I am currently in my late 20s. I recently graduated from university and am working hard to find a job. I have one cat.
How's your life?
I have been living a routine life, but recently I started studying something new. I have a part-time job, and on my days off, I study. It's still challenging as I'm not fully adjusted yet, but I see it as the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
What helps you keep your sanity?
My cat. My sense of responsibility for him helps me stay focused. I also sometimes watch funny movies or listen to exciting EDM music.
What is most important to you right now?
It's mainly about find a job and taking care of my cat's health. My cat was recently sick, so he needs a lot of care. Also, getting a job soon and becoming stable is the most important thing for me right now.
Anything you recently found interesting?
I've started playing badminton. I'm really enjoy it, but the techniques are very difficult :(

Where are you at in your life stage?
Male in 30s, Married and no kids yet. Moved to Orange County from LA and want to meet new people. Originally from Asia, I have lived in the Bay Area, LA county, and now Orange County. I am a director of HR at a company in LA.
How's your life?
My life is simple right now. Morning commute, work from 9 to 6, coming back to eat dinner at 7pm, and repeat the next day. And in the weekends, it's quiet, serene, doing of chores, and having a quality time with my wife.
I believe that one has to love life and seek truth, to be able to lead a meaningful life. Happiness is temporary, but meaningfulness is much more valuable in life.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Basketball podcasts, hugging my dog, my wife's encouragement, getting some workouts in, getting some sun in the morning, drinking black coffee, watching good shows on youtube/netflix, and knowing that I have my family.
Tbh, I spend way too much time on youtube, so I am trying to be on a diet with media consumption.
What is most important to you right now?
Learning how to be a better person and partner to my wife. Any tips or different insights that you learned would be great!

Little wins in life

Where are you at in your life stage?
Just started my 30s. Married with a crazy puppy! When will the teething and barking stop?? Wondering if I should do a career switch but at the same time I don't want to do more schooling.
How's your life?
It's meh. I feel this sense of stress everyday but I'm trying to find ways to get my mind out of the gutter. Hoping that finding new friends will give me a new perspective.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Definitely friends and coffee. And therapist.
What is most important to you right now?
Thinking about how I should live the next ten years. I need a game plan and make decisions of my own.

Where are you at in your life stage?
I'm in my early-but-approaching-mid-thirties. I just moved back to San Francisco after being away for several years. I had left a nice job here to move to the East Coast to achieve my long-held dream of getting my master's in a field I was more passionate about. Before moving back, I ended a very meaningful relationship after having been on a dating "dry spell" for about 4 years. A month after moving back, some family stuff came up, and it took me about 3 months to sort everything out. I was hoping for some stability/coasting, but it seems like I will be laid off soon. I would say this is the year of transitions for me.
How's your life?
It’s been full of changes, especially the breaking-down of what no longer serves me/my family. And, it has been really challenging due to all the endings/beginnings. But, from a more positive lens, life has been pretty steady, mostly thanks to my family, a few close friends, and being back in my hometown of San Francisco (the familiarity is very comforting). Starting over is so hard, though. I am trying to look at it as a huge opportunity for me to continue aligning my life with my vision for myself.
What helps you keep your sanity?
Daily exercise (walking in my neighborhood, short strength-training routine right after I get up in the morning), getting enough sleep, meditation, and connecting with friends.
What is most important to you right now?
Finding my next professional role, getting back into dating, and expanding my community here in the Bay Area. I guess that's three things. :) Fundamentally: having enough energy to do all the things I want to do.
Anything you recently found interesting?
City College of San Francisco offers weight lifting classes! It’s something that I’ve been meaning to try. If anyone has any suggestions on strength training classes, please let me know!

@CH I once read that when people were asked to read an excerpt from a book and guess the gender of the author, most would assume the author is male. That might speak to the way society has shaped our expectations and perhaps could be partly why your readers make such an assumption. :)

Because I’m introverted and constantly overthinking, (maybe a tad bit of rbf.. ha..) people think I’m standoffish; to but it nicely. The reality is I’m not, I’m just selective with my energy. I’m always looking to improve though, so I know it’s something to work on if I’m giving people that impression of me.

My craft is in design. It’s often assumed that if you can make things beautiful, you or your work cannot simultaneously be smart

Where are you at in your life stage?
I’m in the rebuilding process of my life. Changing careers for a new passion. At a crossroads with whether my time here in the Bay Area is done or do I need to build a new circle of friends?
How's your life?
Overall good and lucky. Besides those lonely days, I keep a positive attitude towards life. I want to feed my hunger for curiosity of meeting new people and re-spark my love of humanity.
What helps you keep your sanity?
I love videography. I love collaborating with people through filming. I also really love just hearing people’s stories. I can get sucked in and immersed with the most random story of a person’s life.
What is most important to you right now?
Making new connections. I need new friends, new people to spark my curiosity.
Anything you recently found interesting?
I’ve recently found the history of the early English monarchy to be fascinating. I didn’t pay much attention in school but now I’m hooked. I’ve also recently developed a love for street photography.

@oakmilkplease415 OMG yes. I can get so into Roman history. Such a fascinating time. Street photography can be so addictive. I love sifting through the small moments I’ve captured. BTW, sent you a coffee request. Would love to nerd out with you.

Rebuilding now, too. Nothing better than a good story of someone's life, particularly as a documentary.
