Amaranthine
How well have you adapted after moving from Florida?
S3ti98
Hey! It's been pretty lonely so far but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. Just trying to stay busy and meet people, which really helps. Actually that cruise I took was to southern Mexico, lots of fascinating ancient architecture. Are you from San jose?
Amaranthine
Hm, not exactly. I’m from Mexico city but actually grew up in N.C. and moved to San Jose at 18 and been here over a decade now. And that’s super cool, I wanna actually go to Playa del Carmen soon before focusing on a new career path.
S3ti98
Oh nice! Yea I went to cozumel and mahahual. So what's your new career path? Let me know if you want to meet up, I'm pretty much always free on the weekend. Well maybe not always haha, I keep scheduling new events
Amaranthine
That’s super awesome right next to where I wanna move to! I’m looking into hospitality as a possibility. But I’m still not sure, I wanna still travel before settling down. For sure let’s meet up, I’m free most weekends so let me know. I’ll send a coffee request (:
S3ti98
Sound good! I can meet next weekend, Saturday or sunday
artsada
Meetups can be a miss a lot of times, but I encourage you to keep trying! What are some of the ones you've gone to?
S3ti98
Oh yea haha definitely. But so far, I think I managed to make a few friends! I've been to a few like laser tag, ice skating, a couple of groups where you just meet and play board games, a video game group, ultimate frisbee, a more ethnic/cultural group.
S3ti98
How about you? Also let me know if you want to meet for coffee!

Congratulations on your new job! I think it is admirable that you are taking steps towards progressing both academically and professionally! Props to you for making a goal for yourself to pursue higher education, that is something I want to achieve myself :)
I imagine moving to San Jose from Florida must have been daunting, considering it is so far away. I can relate to moving to an unfamiliar area and the loneliness that comes with it + the effort that goes into building a social community for yourself! I'm currently trying to keep myself busy and form connections with others as well. Balancing a work/school/life balance synonymously isn't easy and I have so much respect for others who are experiencing it.
Astronomical observing and meetups sound really fascinating and I would be interested in hearing more about it and what it entails! Sent a coffee req, I think it would be nice to converse!
S3ti98
Nice to meet you! I like the points that you bring up, we could definitely discuss more in person! I guess I can send you a request, I haven't received anything yet?
